Fashion Fever Changes for 2010After 3 Cycles of doing the Fashion Fever in a very normal long winded way, and as much as I love the epic style contest set up. I have decided to dramatically change the way FF will be held starting in January 2010.
The New Challenge Set Up- There will be one challenge posted each month (so 12 challenges a year), and the design deadline will be at the end of each month.
- Challenges are open to ALL members of Fashion Fever, members can individual choose to participate or not each month and you dont need to do the previous challenge to do the next months challenge.
- When you decide to do a challenge you will be judged on your ability to hit the mark of the challenge and not agaist the other designs turned in for that challenge.
- Each month the highest scored design get a few virtual prizes BUT (read the next bullet)
- At the end of each year a Epic Designer Award will be given out with the following prizes:
o A one year membership to DA
o DA Stamp or Banner declaring your are the Epic FF Designer of 2010
o A Feature in FF's Journal Space & DA News Report
o More prizes to be announced later.
Collect the Most PointsThat is the newest part of this new FF design year long challenge extravaganza is to get the most points over the course of the year. To do that when you take on a challenge each challenge will have a judge point scale usually 100 points, but some challenges may be worth more depending on the "challenge difficulty rating"
The higher your design scores the more points you collect. I will be actively keeping track of everyones points via journal entry for each challenge and ranking each designer so example of that would be:
FF Designer Rank as of April 2010:
1. FashionFever-Contest with 432 points
2. Random-Deviant10 with 343 points
3. Random-Deviant21 with 210 points
4. Random-Deviant31 with 98 points
5. Random-Deviant12 with 18 points
6. And so on
7. And so on
8. Get the point?
Top 5 Reasons why change is comingThis is to open up the contest to everyone better especially those who are not always able to do the FF long competition but still want to design and have fun.
Also sometimes a challenge doesnt give inspiration to some designers so I don't want to punish them for not "feeling" a challenge by cutting them anymore.
People who find FF at random times and still want to get in on the action they have a fighting chance. Also this version of one challenge a month and point gathering is far easier to finagle as a contest controller. This also eliminates member projects since they are not actively done too often. There are many more reasons for this adjustment to FF but these where the most predominate concerns I kept running into.
Cycle 3 will finish and then Cycle 4 will be the new system I explained just now Starting January 1st 2010.
If you have questions, ideas, or comments about the new system idea please post all questions here
